The Feoffees and Thirteen of Tetbury
What a busy start to the autumn we have had and I would like to start by thanking my colleagues in the Feoffees and Thirteen and all residents who participated in our September events, from the Community BBQ at the Millennium Green, to visiting our display on Heritage Weekend in the Market House and finally the Beating of the Bounds and presentation of our accounts.
I hope that by the time you read this there are still some apples available in our community orchard on Herd Lane – please be careful if you do enter and use the orchard, as the ground is uneven.
Over the summer you will have noticed that the cows were only in Preston Park for a while, this is due to the gates being regularly left open and the cows having to be rounded up on several occasions. We need the cows every year to help us to maintain this area and keep the grass down, without them the grass is difficult to control. Could I ask you to please close the gates behind you, even when the cows are not in residence.
Grants to groups and individuals in Tetbury is one of the ways we support residents and our community. Over the summer we have supported Tetbury Town Football club - £1,000 – towards new footballs and £1,000 to 6 Scouts who are participating in various international trips in 2027.
If you think we may be able to help you or if you are a member of a group who could be helped with a grant, please visit our website - www.thefeoffeesoftetbury.co.uk – where you can also find out more about the work we do in our town. If you would like to volunteer to help us in our work, please get in touch or speak to one of our members.
An important date for noting in your diaries now is the annual Christmas Light Switch On, which will take place this year on Friday December 4th – the Feoffees will once again be decorating the Market House, making it a focal point for the town celebrations.
